Nutrition Facts
Some of you may remember the old TV cop show, “Dragnet”, with Jack Webb as Detective Joe Friday. Or maybe you remember a more recent movie with Dan Aykroyd as Friday. Either way…one of the famous lines that came from that was “just the facts, ma’am.” And I’m gonna add to that and say “just the nutrition facts, ya’ll”.
Recently I took a small group of lovely ladies on my Real Foods Mixer, a grocery store tour, where I taught them how important reading food labels is to better overall health. We finished the tour with a delicious smoothie in my own kitchen. Each of the ladies said they felt more confident knowing the nutrition facts and where to focus their time in a grocery store. That made me feel great.
There are so many potential health-damaging components found in many foods these days. If you don’t know what to watch for, you might end up putting something in your body that sounds “natural” but really isn’t.
The good news is…when you’re armed with the nutrition facts, you can make informed decisions that can affect how well you live now…and even potentially extend your life. It’s important you take charge, take control, and take responsibility for your health. Your doctor won’t do it. Your pharmacist won’t do it. Even your own friends and family won’t, can’t, and shouldn’t do it.
Here’s to real foods,
