How To Bounce Back When Life Knocks You Down
I want to thank everyone for being so patient with me because I have been gone quite a long time. For those of you who don’t know, I was taking care of my aging parents and my mom finally passed away Aug 2 2015. I’m so grateful for my faith in Jesus, because without Him, the days of caring for aging parents would have been even harder if not hopeless at times. I’m happy to say the experience has taught me how to bounce back when life knocks you down.
I learned a lot from caring for others in their time of need. It made me realize how much more important it is to learn about self care. To put responsibility back in my own hands. How do you do this? By focusing on these 5 areas…
- Educating yourself about God,
- Spending quality time with family,
- Discovering work you love,
- Enjoying cleaner foods, and
- Moving around more.
Wow, thats a lot…but so worth it. Focusing on these five areas, in this order, help you to age more gracefully. When you keep priorities in order, it helps relieve stress. And when you reduce stress, you can reduce inflammation, which is a serious threat to your health. And that can help you age gracefully.
I like to start my morning with a nice hot cup of bone broth. Yes, I said bone broth. I’ll talk about that more, later. I don’t do well with coffee in the morning. It makes me too jittery. But for those of you who can handle it, I say enjoy!”Then I like to spend time with Jesus in His Word. It provides a daily healing to my spirit.
Next comes family. We start the day with a delicious, high protein breakfast. I’m blessed because my husband makes breakfast a lot! Then, we like to make sure the dogs are walked and fed and have lots of hugs. They love it! We, as a family, try to move around more and get plenty of sunshine. After that, I like to prepare tasty, nourishing food to get us through the rest of the day.
Then it’s time to get to work. I dig into finding information and tips I can share with about these 5 areas of life. And when I’m doing this, it doesn’t feel like a job at all. I love it.
So, there you have its the five areas to focus on for better health and graceful aging. Don’t think for a moment that everyday will go smoothly or exactly like this. Life throws you some curves, and you need to be flexible. But keeping it in perspective is just plain good for you.
It feels good to be back on track. I’m like anybody…I sometimes need help in remembering how to bounce back after hard times. What about you? Are you facing struggles like these in your life? Are you bouncing back? Share your story with me.
Have a happy, healthy day!
